Saffron grading describes which part of the stigma is in the pack. Sargol is the all-red tip with the yellow style removed, the highest colouring strength by weight. Negin keeps the threads long and whole, prized for presentation. Pushal includes some of the yellow style and is priced accordingly.
ISO 3632 measures colouring strength (crocin absorbance). Category I saffron exceeds 190 units; the lines we stock test well above that threshold.
Ask your supplier for the harvest year and the lab certificate. We provide both with every consignment.
